The territorial limits of the Rotary Club of Akron is the City of Akron, Ohio.

The object is to encourage and foster the ideal of service, high ethical standards, and international understanding, good will, and peace.

Rotary is an not-for-profit organization of business and professional men and women united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

The Rotary Club of Akron is a part of Rotary International District 6630, which is comprised of over 50 Rotary Clubs in Northeast Ohio with over 2,000 District Members. Membership in the Akron Club has changed with membership ranging over the years between 130 to over 300.

The Rotary Club of Akron is dedicated to the health and education of our area's youth and special needs children.  Besides these goals, the Club also reaches out to youths who are in need of support and guidance through projects such as the foreign exchange student programs, youth scholarships, drug awareness seminars, and the Rotary Camp for Special Needs Children.  Along with such services as mentioned above, the Rotary Club of Akron has also taken part in funding a soft-playground, multi-sensory room and equipment for the severely handicapped children at Barrett Academy.
