The Akron Rotary Camp began a $3.5 million capital campaign to revitalize its worn World War II-era facilities to benefit children and adults with disabilities. Rotary Camp's capital campaign has reached $1 million of its $3.5 million goal.
Rotary Camp initiated the campaign - titled Sailing the Course, Together- in order to upgrade its camper cabins, build a new bathhouse and hillside recreation center, improve access and accessibility, enhance lakefront recreation on Rex Lake and update the aged infrastructure. These improvements within Phase I of the Rotary Camp master plan are scheduled for completion prior to the 2012 camping season.
