Global Ties Akron, Executive Director
Evelyn serves as the new Executive Director for Global Ties Akron. This local non-profit focuses on building connections between our Greater Akron, Ohio community and the World through their core services of International Exchange, Global Education, and Social Enterprise. Her rich history of leadership experience included an emphasis on director and management roles with industry experience in both the private and public sectors. Evelyn’s leadership roles included those in the non-profit realm; managed community collaboration efforts; and oversite of cross-cultural and intergenerational projects on a local and international level. After founding and directing a local grassroot nonprofit that served youth and their families, locally and internationally, Evelyn obtained a Doctor of Public Health from Walden University, Master of Education in Health Education and Promotion from Kent State University, and Bachelor of Psychology from Kent State University at Stark. She is actively credentialed at the Intermediate level with the National Advocate Credentialing Program (NACP), providing best-practice advocacy services. Along with her recent engagement as a Rotarian, Evelyn currently serves as Co-chair for ATHENA Akron’s Leadership Lunch Forum and is Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Co-chair with the Akron Society of Human Resources & Management. A lifetime member of the Akron area, wife, and mother of nine, in her down time, she enjoys the outdoors and traveling.
