This week, the Rotary Theme tie from 2015-16 was presented by Cheryl Warren to John Daily. The RI President for 2015-16 was Ravi Ravindran and his theme was Be A Gift To The World - Cheryl was our 2015-16 RI District Governor. In Ravi's presentation of his theme, he talked about Abraham Lincoln, Mother Theresa, Gandhi and what great gifts they gave to humanity. He then said "we know that we are not like them, and we do not aspire to live the lives they led, but we can be inspired by their example, and we can be inspired to say how can I, in the life that I live, without negatively affecting the responsibilities dear to me, how can I too become a gift to the world?". Ravi emphasized that gifts come in many forms - time, talents and treasures.
John has been such an inspiration to every one of us in many different ways. . .we thank you John, you truly are a gift to all those around you, to Rotary and to the world.
