Leadership of the club is important and YOUR OPPORTUNITY to influence the direction of the Rotary Club of Akron by submitting nominations.
The President is an important position. Not only do they lead the club for a year, they also participate in the nomination committee for the 5 years after they conclude their term and it is a 2 year training process leading up to being President. So the member who is elected as Vice President this year will serve in that position (7/1/23-6/30/24), then President Elect (7/1/24-6/30/25) and finally President (7/1/25-6/30/26).
This years nominating committee is lead by Steve Buie as the most recent past President along with Rob McGregor, Pat O'Neill, John Margida and Julie Brandle. These people have lived this leadership and as a club we lean into their experience for them to interview and provide a slate of officers that will best lead into the future. They can choose to give multiple candidates or only one based on their assessment of the nominations through interviews.
The club then has an opportunity to vote via ballot (October/November) and then ratify the election at our annual meeting on December 6.
So please submit yourself or another club member for consideration for all or any of the following positions to Steve Buie (sbuie@learningrx.net or 330-701-2970) or any of the other members of the nomination committee NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 30.
