AKRON ROTARY CAMP
2019 Highlights
-$167,000: Direct financial assistance provided to attend Camp programs. No one is ever turned away for services due to the inability to pay.
-$565,000: Amount raised at The Regatta which was as huge success.
-December 25, 2019: The expected completion of the Bud Rodgers Adventure Park which includes nine high elements, including two zip lines, and three on the ground elements.
-Akron Area YMCA: Since 1995 the YMCA has managed the day to day operations of Akron Rotary Camp including: staffing, human resources, accounting, technology support, insurance and marketing. The camp board approved another 5 year management agreement with the Akron Area YMCA.
-American Camp Association Accreditation: Rotary Camp scored a 100% in all applicable standards. Peer camp directors from other camps spent a day scoring over 300 national standards ranging from guard rails on bunk beds to staff screening and training, to lifeguards at the waterfront.
-Volunteer Experiences: In 2019, there have been nearly 3,000 volunteer hours provided by over 400 Akron Rotarians and community members.
-Meals Served: Kathy Brown, Food Service Director at Camp, shared that through November 2019, we have served 2,758 people and 17,905 meals!

Importance of weekly attendance at Rotary lunches.
-We guarantee Portage Country Club a minimum of 40 meals each week.
-Lunch shortfall: 8 out of 20 weekly lunches where we did not meet minimum attendance
-Shortfall cost to the Club: $829.60
-Rotarians/Guests not eating: 128 meals paid $5 for difference of $921.60 vs. $13 lunches
