What a wonderful meeting this week - we were so honored to have District 6630 Governor, Beverly Ghent-Skrzynski at our Club for her 'official visit'.  She is a warm and thoughtful speaker and we sincerely appreciate her taking the time to be with us. DG Beverly graciously shared with us her notes from her presentation for those of you who could not attend (click here to read).   
 
One of my biggest take-aways was the challenge of RI President Barry Rassin that each club president the their leadership team be the inspiration for positive change.  It is truly my goal to do this during my year as President with the support of our tremendous members.  

DG Beverly was excited to induct our newest member, Sara Eddy, who was nominated by Susan Colville-Hall (photo L-R: DG Beverly Ghent-Skrzynski, Sara Eddy, Susan Colville-Hall and Club President John Margida.) 
 
At our next meeting we will hear from Akron Rotarian, Claudine Schooley.  Claudine has jumped in with both feet since moving to Akron from the west coast and transferring to our club.  Her presentation will be "Ukrain, God's Treaures" focusing on serving the needs of people with disabilities and orphans in Ukrain.

 
 
Please be sure you have your calendar marked for WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 3rd - this replaces our regularly scheduled weekly meeting.

Join Us for An Evening with Gaelynn Lea

Come together for a special night of music at the beautiful Akron Rotary Camp, celebrating the talent and national recognition of Gaelynn Lea.
 
Classically trained violinist and songwriter Gaelynn Lea has been bewitching scores of fans with her haunting original songs and experimental takes on traditional fiddle music. Her work most recently won NPR Music’s 2016 Tiny Desk Contest, a competition drawing submissions of original songs from more than 6,000 musicians across the country.

Tickets are $20, with all proceeds going to the Akron Rotary Camp, a camp for children with special needs. Tickets can be purchased at http://bit.ly/GaelynnLea-Musician.

We will be ringing the bell to support The Salvation Army again this year at ACME #10, located at 2226 State Road in Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223. This is the same location we were at last year.
