Annual Meeting and Election Ballot

The Annual Meeting is coming up on December 3. At that meeting, Club Officers and Directors will be elected, as well as Foundation Directors.
 
Please click to download the Official Ballot for that election.
 
PLEASE VOTE – THERE IS NO EXCUSE NOT TO EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE.
 
The ballot contains the voting instructions. Vote for only 1 candidate for each position.
 
Return the ballot no later than November 26, or your vote will not count.  Listed on the ballot are 3 ways to return the ballot. Ballots will also be available at our meetings on October 29 and November  5, 12, 19 and 26.
 
Provision is made for write-in votes if you wish. Because of our Bylaws succession plan, no write-ins for Club President and President-Elect can be accepted. Once again, the ballot return deadline is November 26. No ballots received after that date will be counted.

The purpose of Rotary Cares is to show our support for Akron Rotary members and their families when dealing with the loss of a loved one, the hardship of illness and also to celebrate the joy of a new baby, job, marriage or other events in their lives. Prayers for Sandy Naragon

Sandy will be undergoing surgery October 30th for three herniated discs in her neck. She currently has very limited mobility.  She looks forward to returning to the Club as soon as she is able. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

 

 

 

Congratulations Roger Read

Fellow Rotarian philanthropist and community leader Roger Read will be the 16th recipient of the H. Peter Burg Economic Development Leadership Award.

The Greater Akron Chamber announced Read will be honored on March 18 at the chamber’s 113th annual meeting at the John S. Knight Center in downtown Akron.

The chamber award was created in memory of the late H. Peter Burg, former chairman and chief executive of FirstEnergy Corp. The award recognizes a leader who embraces economic and community development in the Akron area.

On the Road to a Polio Free World

On Tuesday, October 22nd, Past District 6630 Governor, Steve Zabor shared his experience participating in a Polio National Immunization Day (NID) in India and why our continued efforts to eradicate this disease are so important.
