On December 17, 2019, we inducted our newest member, Dr. Jeffrey Kempf who was sponsored by Jack Harig, PDG.
Dr Kempf is the Director of the Office of Pediatric Global Health at Akron Children's hospital. He and his wife, Ellen, have been leaders in a partnership with Rotary District 6630, the Rotary Club of Akron and our Rotary affiliate, Gift of Life. The result of his endeavors with us includes, but is not limited to, obtaining a Rotary Grant and bringing two vocational training teams to Akron for training in pediatric cardiac care. This project resulted in the establishment of a pediatric cardiac unit at St. Damian Hospital In Haiti. Not to be slowed down he and Ellen are working on outreaches in the Dominican Republic.
Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for over 30 years, and our goal of ridding the earth of this disease is in sight. We started in 1979 with vaccinations for 6 million children in the Philippines. Today, Afghanistan, Nigeria, and Pakistan are the only countries where polio remains endemic.
Donate to End Polio.Your donation helps Rotary and its partners reach every child with the polio vaccine. Thanks to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, your contribution will be tripled, getting us even closer to a polio-free world
We are resolved to rid the world of polio forever. We also educate and equip communities to stop other diseases and expand access to health care.
Many thanks to Vivian M Harig for her donation to Rotary International to “Eradicate Polio” now! Her $1,000.00 donation helps Rotary and its partners reach every child with the polio vaccine. Thank you Vivian Harig!
