About Our 2025-2026 President:

Katy Miller
Entrepreneur | Community Leader | Independent Consultant | Personal Stylist | Proud Wife, Mom & Grandma

Katy Miller is a passionate entrepreneur and dedicated community leader with a heart for service, connection, and making a meaningful impact. Her leadership journey began in the schools of her daughters, where she served in nearly every PTA role from elementary through high school. After her youngest daughter graduated, Katy expanded her reach by joining the Junior League of Akron in 2014 and becoming an active member of the Rotary Club of Akron in 2015. Through her involvement in Rotary, Katy discovered a deep passion for service, leadership development, and forming lasting, meaningful relationships.

As Vice President of the Akron Rotary Foundation Board of Directors for nine years, Katy has shown exceptional leadership and dedication to service. She is looking forward to her upcoming year as President of the Rotary Club of Akron, where she will continue to inspire growth, service, and fellowship within the club. Guided by the Rotary's 4-Way Test, Katy continually strives to create positive change, ask important questions, and promote goodwill in all aspects of life.

Katy's commitment to her community extends beyond Rotary. She is a member of The Christ Child Society of Akron, where she continues her work of making a difference for those in need. As a graduate of Leadership Akron Women’s Network CLI, Class 3, Katy embraces her
CliftonStrengths—Harmony, Positivity, Adaptability, Responsibility, and Maximizer—using these to foster collaboration and create spaces where people can truly thrive.

Professionally, Katy works as an independent consultant with Touchstone Crystal by Swarovski and Rodan + Fields, helping women feel empowered through beautiful jewelry and skincare solutions. She also has experience as a personal stylist with Chloe + Isabel Jewelry and supports her husband, Tim Miller, at Insurance Service Agency Inc. by assisting with office operations and accounts payable.

Married in 1987, Tim and Katy are proud of their family, including their daughters, Ali Miller, Lindsay and Keith Lewandowski, and Casey Miller, as well as their cherished grandchildren, Robbie and Gabriella Lewandowski.

CLUB NEWS
Akron Club Recognized for Service by District 6630
Our Rotary District 6630 Awards night was held July 2, 2025 honoring Clubs and individuals for their successes in the 2024-2025 Rotary year and recognition of several of the Akron Club members that served on various District committees.

We congratulate each and every member who received recognition and thank all of our members for their dedication to Rotary and Service Above Self.

It takes quite a bit of time to compile all of the information from the Rotary year for the award form - special thanks to Club Secretary Terry Dalton for pulling together all of the data, completing the awards form and submitting it to the District before the deadline.

The A.Z. Baker Service Award is to encourage a reaching out in total service and the "development of resources" on the part of all clubs in District 6630, the A. Z. Baker Service Awards were established in 1978 at the recommendation of then District Governor James P. Banks, and by action of the District Board of Trustees. This award honors our own "Mr. Rotary," A.Z. Baker, from the Rotary Club of Cleveland who served as Rotary International President in 1955-1956. His dedication and commitment to Rotary truly exemplified SERVICE ABOVE SELF and this award was designed to honor his memory by encouraging all clubs in the district to participate in each of the Avenues of Service which are the foundation of club activity.

Under the direction of 2024-2025 President Billow, the Club received the A.Z. Baker Award.
This award is the result of a club-wide effort of all of our members - congratulations to all of you for helping us achieve this award.

Michael J. Johns, Sr. Lifetime Achievement  Award
This award is presented to a long-time member in good standing with Rotary District 6630 who has freely given of himself/herself through mentoring, sharing, and serving Rotary. Potential awardees include a past District, Zone or International officer or committee chair (not necessarily a PDG); a supporter of The Rotary Foundation to the best of their ability (not necessarily financial); and someone who has touched our District in many ways throughout the years.

Akron member, Stew Buchanan, PDG received this distinguished award.  Stew could not be present at the event but has received his award.

Training and Educational Individual Award
This is presented to any District Rotarian who has shown a commitment to the ideals and spirit of being a Rotarian during the 2024-2025 Rotary Year.

Akron member Cheryl Warren was one of the members in the District to receive the award.

District Committee Recognition
Recognition was given to members throughout the District who served on District Committees.

From the Akron Club, this included Tom Knauer (Finance); Cheryl Warren (Website); Julie Brandle (Nominating); Doug Hausknecht (ShelterBox).

Volunteer Opportunity at Rotary Camp's Summer Camp Cookout
Thursday, July 10, 2025
5:30-7:30pm
Akron Rotary Camp
4460 Rex Lake Drive
Akron, OH 44319

We are seeking 6-8 volunteers to assist at the Summer Camp cookout at Rotary Camp. This is a fantastic opportunity for newer Rotarians to experience Rotary Camp and learn more about its mission. Volunteers will be helping to set up the food in the pavilion (buffet style), serving dinner to campers and guests, and cleaning up after.

Please Park in the Camp’s overflow parking area behind the cabins. Instead of turning onto Rex Lake Drive to turn into Camp’s parking, continue with the road. Parking will be on the right, back of the cabins on the left. Enter camp on the pathway between the corner cabins.

If you're able to join us, please reach out to Katy Miller at katymiller218@gmail.com and Amanda Warner at amandaw@akronymca.org.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Volunteers Needed:  One Hot Meal Program & Food Pantry through December 2025
Volunteers are needed for the One Hot Meal and Food Pantry at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.

Last Fall, we helped the folks at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with their One Hot Meal Program the week of Thanksgiving.  We had a wonderful Rotarian turnout to help serve.

The Rotarians involved loved the project.

The Church does this once a month, on a smaller scale.

We now have scheduled opportunities to serve once a month through the end of the calendar year.

Time: 4:45 pm - 6:30 pm
Location: Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S. Union Street, Akron, OH 44304

Click on the respective Tuesday below to view available time slots and book yourself to volunteer directly online.

We appreciate your participation and look forward to making this a great event together!

Rotarians Roast Past President Billow
On June 26th at Portage Country Club, Rotarians and Friends joined in on some good natured "roasting" of our outgoing President Nathanael Billow! We are so grateful for his steady leadership this past year. Congratulations on a job well done!
