It's More Than Just Lunch!

This is a picture of the son of Steve and Cherie Shechter, Colin Morris, with their French exchange student from 1994-95, Christelle. Steve and Cherie said, . . .

"she was a delightful young lady when she was here, and she has blossomed into a wonderful (and beautiful) woman with a terrific husband and an adorable little girl."

Colin has spent this academic year studying in France, and Christelle and her family have befriended him. In this photo, they are sharing a bad hair day at a well known lighthouse on the southwestern coast of France.

Colin Morris wrote to his parents: "Jade lives on an island off the west coast of France. Her mother [Christelle] took care of me, and maybe I will take care of her and she will take care of mine, and so on and so on."

The Shechter's can hardly express, in French or English, what it means to to love their French daughter on a whole new level. This is a great example of how Rotary is much more than just lunch.
