The Akron Rotary Foundation provides funding to finance activities that benefit youth and children with special needs, particularly when they are not otherwise being met; as well as other projects sanctioned by the Rotary Club of  Akron. Some of the ongoing projects include:

  • The Rotary Camp for Children of Special Needs;
  • Barrett Academy;
  • Scholarships for Akron high school students;
  • Rotary Exchange Students;
The Rotary Camp needs financial support of the Foundation for its ambitious and much needed capital program to provide an acceptable and safe environment to the campers. In addition, there are also increasing needs on the other activities that the Foundation supports. Thus, the Foundation is launching a "Planned Giving Program" to solicit donations to strengthen its corpus.

The "Planned Giving Program" provides an alternative channel of donation through planned giving. Some frequently used formats include, but not limit to, assigning Akron Rotary Foundation as:

 * Bequest / Codicil to Will; or
 * Beneficiary Designation in Life Insurance Policy; or
 * Beneficiary Designation in IRA or Keogh Plan, etc.

This program provides to donors the benefit of no economic impact on their current finance status.

In case of need, the Foundation will assist in securing legal services in setting up the bequest or codicil or other legal documents necessary.
