What a day! You know the kind—the kind where the community comes together in arctic temperatures to golf in the snow, all to raise money for a truly magical place where there are only abilities. ❄️⛳️❤️
Oh wait, there really is nothing else like it!
And when it’s over, you can’t help but sit back and think about everyone who made it happen—the Rotarians, sponsors, donors, raffle ticket buyers, volunteers, golfers, chili-contest eaters, and community partners. Not just today… but every single year for the past 35 years of the Akron Chili Open.
That kind of longevity doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because people are committed, they care about the children and families served by the Rotary Camp for Children with Special Needs. Because organizations step up. Because a community shows up—again and again—to support something bigger than themselves.
Grateful to be part of a region that proves, even in the coldest weather, just how warm its heart truly is. We were a little nervous heading into a weekend with threatening bitter cold temperatures.
